When marketing meets engineering

Our story

The Jellop story starts in 2011, when Gil and Iddo co-founded a digital marketing shop for startups. Three years later, Gil received a call from an old-time friend, Gilad, who was finishing his PhD in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering in Princeton University. He and his classmate Carla had just launched a Kickstarter campaign and struggled to get traction.

Gil and Iddo got to work and tried everything they knew about digital marketing. Yet nothing seemed to work. The four started brainstorming, with Gil and Iddo bringing their digital marketing expertise and Gilad and Carla translating it into code. By the time the Kickstarter campaign was over, they had already had the first version of a proprietary analytics software specifically tailored to Kickstarter. They started offering creators help to reach and exceed their funding goals.

It's All Coming Together

In January 2015, the four officially joined forces. Jellop completed its pivot to crowdfunding, offering a straightforward business model: compensation is 100% performance-based and no strings attached.

Over the years, Jellop grew their business from supporting 5-figure projects to promoting 6-figure, 7-figure, and even 8-figure projects, all while expanding their client base to thousands of creators.

As Jellop began supporting over 100 new projects a month, it became clear that it was time to grow the team. They started hiring and now have a fantastic team of 18, spanning five time zones, dedicated to helping creators 24/7/365.

In March 2023, Jellop was named Kickstarter’s first official advertising partner.
